Services & Scope
What services does Rock Spreaders offer?
Two core services: gravel replenishment — refreshing and topping off existing rock — and new rock installation — laying fresh gravel or decorative rock on bare or newly graded ground. We handle both for residential, HOA, commercial, and municipal properties across Arizona.
What’s the difference between gravel replenishment and new rock installation?
Replenishment refreshes rock you already have — we top off and even out gravel that’s thinned, shifted, or faded. New installation lays fresh rock where there wasn’t any, or replaces old ground cover entirely. Not sure which you need? Tell us about your property and we’ll point you to the right one.
Do you remove old rock, grass, or ground cover before installing?
Yes — for new installations we can clear and prep the area, including removing old material and grading, so the new rock sits clean and even. We’ll confirm exactly what prep your project needs during the free estimate.
Do you only work with rock and gravel?
Rock and gravel spreading is our specialty — it’s what we do all day, every day, which is how we became the largest gravel replenishment company in Arizona. If a project needs something beyond our scope, just ask and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Service Area
What areas of Arizona do you serve?
We’re based in Phoenix and serve the Phoenix metro (the Valley), plus Tucson and northern Arizona — including Prescott, Sedona, and Flagstaff. Not sure if we reach you? Just ask.
Is there a minimum job size?
We take on jobs of all sizes, from a single front yard to large commercial lots and full HOA communities. If you’re not sure whether your project is a fit, reach out and we’ll let you know.
Do you travel outside the Phoenix metro?
Yes. While we’re based in Phoenix, we regularly work throughout our service area — the Phoenix metro, Tucson, and northern Arizona. Travel and logistics for more distant projects are factored into your estimate.
Pricing & Estimates
How much does gravel replenishment or new rock cost?
Every property is different, so cost depends on the size of the area, the material and depth you choose, and site access. That’s why we provide free, no-obligation estimates — we’ll assess your property and give you a clear number before any work begins.
Are your estimates really free?
Yes — completely free and no-pressure. We’ll look at your property (on-site when needed), talk through what you want, and give you an honest estimate with no obligation to move forward.
What goes into the price?
Mainly the square footage being covered, the type of rock, how deep it’s spread, and how easy the area is to access. For replenishment, the current condition of your existing rock matters too. We’ll walk you through it so there are no surprises.
Do you require payment upfront?
Payment terms, including any deposit, are laid out clearly in your estimate before work begins — no hidden fees. We’ll go over everything with you so you know exactly what to expect.
Materials & Options
What types of rock and gravel do you offer?
Decorative granite, decomposed granite (DG), riprap and river rock, and base/functional rock — in a range of sizes and colors. Browse the full lineup in our materials catalog.
Can you match the rock I already have?
In most cases, yes. Share a photo or a small sample and we’ll do our best to match the color and size so a replenishment blends in seamlessly. Color and availability can vary by supplier, so we’ll confirm the closest match before scheduling.
What color or size should I choose?
It comes down to the look you want and how the rock will be used — finer material for pathways, larger stone for drainage and slopes, decorative granite for curb appeal. Tell us your goals and we’ll recommend options; the materials catalog is a great place to start.
How deep should the gravel be?
For most decorative landscape rock, around two inches of coverage gives a clean, full look and helps suppress weeds — though the right depth depends on the material and the area. We’ll recommend the proper depth for your project.
Do you install weed barrier under the rock?
We can. Weed barrier fabric under new rock helps keep weeds down and separates the rock from the soil. We’ll talk through whether it makes sense for your project during the estimate.
Scheduling & Process
How do I get started?
Just request a free estimate through our contact form or give us a call. We’ll assess the site, recommend the right service and material, and get you a clear estimate — then schedule the work when you’re ready.
How soon can you schedule the work?
Timing depends on the season and our current schedule, but we work to get you on the calendar as soon as we can. We’ll give you realistic timing when we provide your estimate.
How long does a typical job take?
Many residential jobs are completed in a single day, while larger commercial properties and HOA communities may take longer. We’ll give you an expected timeframe up front based on your property.
Is the work dust-controlled and cleaned up afterward?
Yes. We use a dust-controlled process and clean up the site when we’re done — whether it’s one front yard or an active commercial property. Leaving your property clean and presentable is part of the job.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Not necessarily — as long as we have access to the areas being worked on and clear instructions, many jobs can be completed without you present. We’ll coordinate the details with you beforehand.
HOAs, Commercial & Property Managers
Do you work with HOAs and property managers?
Absolutely — HOA communities and commercial properties are a core part of what we do. We handle entrances, greenbelts, common areas, and large commercial lots, and we’re used to working with boards and management teams. See who we serve.
Can you set up recurring or scheduled service?
Yes. Many HOAs and commercial clients put replenishment on a recurring schedule so their properties stay consistently fresh. We can set up a plan you can budget around.
Can you provide estimates and invoicing suitable for board approval?
Yes. We provide clear, itemized estimates that are easy to present to a board or management company, and straightforward invoicing for your records.
Do you work around business hours and tenants?
We do. For commercial and municipal work we schedule around your hours, tenants, and traffic, with proper safety measures — so day-to-day operations aren’t disrupted.
